STUDIO APPROACH TO A GARDEN PLANDesign belief We believe the atmosphere and physical characteristics of your space, your life style and tastes all play their part in the garden plan. We then balance the connection between interiors and exteriors, and between a garden and the natural landscape or cityscape beyond. It is vital to be sympathetic with the context in which your garden lies. But also to be clear and decisive in delivering a design statement. Client aspirationEach project is as unique as each client. You may wish for a soft edged garden brimming with plants and flowers, lush and scented. So you may find tending to it is a source of relaxation. You may wish for a contemporary space where geometry, hard materials and elegance are more evident than planting. So the space could be undemanding and low maintenance. These can be very much your decisions. Coming togetherOur practise does not limit itself to one style or service package. Our common ground would result in a space which will function well and be aesthetically beautiful. It could be wild or precisely formed, romantic or sparse, naive or sophisticated. |
DESIGN BACKGROUND
Henrietta Gentilli graduated from the Inchbald School of Garden Design in London, which is internationally renowned. She set up the design studio in South London in 2004. This prompt came from a genuine love of gardens and landscape and a creative ability. Henrietta did a one year horticultural course in 1996 with Sunday Telegraph garden writer Helen Yemm. She was a design student at the Chelsea School of Art. She is also a Friend of the Society of Garden Designers. A love of art, theatre and music all help to inform the way Henrietta looks at the visual world. The vast majority of commissions have come from personal references.
